Workshop: Beginning a Framework for eGovernment research

24th October 2006, Barcelona

During the eGOVERNET workshop in Barcelona different perspectives were presented and a very interesting discussion took place. Experiences from 14 different countries representing different levels of eGovernment research development feed into concluding remarks how to improve the use of eGovernemnt research.

The aim of EU sponsored eGOVERNET project was to support the creation of national eGovernment RTD programmes and initiatives, as well as to stimulate the cooperation of and learning from existing national eGovernment R&D programmes.

The objective of this workshop was to

  • discover the variations in eGovernment research throughout Europe
  • create a discussion forum on eGovernment research strategies and programmes
  • present findings to date from the eGOVERNET project

The workshop programme included presentations of both project findings and suggested framework inputs with an aim to stimulate discussion and provide an interdisciplinary approach to the project work.

A report on the findings of the workshop will be published on the eGOVERNET website (www.egovernet.org), once these have been validated in the project.
