Workshop: eGovernment Research – Visions and Policies


From scenarios to roadmap, programmes, instruments and evaluation

11th April 2007, Prague

The aim of EU sponsored eGOVERNET project is to support the creation of national eGovernment RTD programmes and initiatives, as well as to stimulate the cooperation of and learning from existing national eGovernment R&D programmes.

The workshop was the second in a series of four, involving key stakeholders of eGovernment research, and aiming at building a Common Framework for eGovernment Research Programmes in the European Research Area.

The objective of this workshop was to
-
present the results of the eGovRTD2020 project (www.egovrtd2020.org)
- present the results to date of eGOVERNET, and in particular the survey of
   research programmes on eGovernment in the European Research Area
- discuss commonalities and differences between different countries,
- create a discussion forum on eGovernment research strategy and programmes, in order to build a common framework in the European Research Area on the basis of input from eGovRTD2020 and existing regional and national research strategies

The workshop programme included presentations of both project findings and suggested framework inputs with an aim to stimulate discussion and provide an interdisciplinary approach to the project work. The previous workshop on this theme held in Barcelona last year Beginning a Framework for eGovernment research serves as a successful example and provides interesting presentation material and a workshop report.
